IBM's New Computer Architecture based on the 'Brain'

We have always compared a computer and its memory structure to human brain and sometimes also think beyond it like oneday there would be no difference between these two. And its seems to go real as IBM's new computing architecture is perfectly based on the real human structure of a brain.

IBM Research says the the new net/design of silicon chips is directly inspired by the Human Brain. Not only the size but also the ability to minimal use of power by eco-ing itself to the environment and the functioning is also inspired by the same.

Is the actual word of IBM Release :
"We are working to create a Fortran for neurosynaptic chips," IBM principal investigator and senior manager Dharmendar Modha said in a release. "While complementing today's computers, this will bring forth a fundamentally new technological capability in terms of programming and applying emerging learning systems."

As well, it created a highly parameterized spiking neuron model meant to be simple and digital, and which forms what it called a "fundamental information processing unit of brain-like computation" and "supports a wide range of deterministic and stochastic neural computations, codes, and behaviors." IBM said that such a network could potentially remember, sense, and even act upon a number of "spatio-temporal, multi-modal environmental stimuli."
