ICC Brings New Laws in CRICKET for All Formats

ICC (International Cricket Council) has come up with new rules for all three formats in Cricket after a discussion that took place today on 30th Oct. 2012 at SriLanka just before the start of test series between SriLanka and New Zealand.

The major rules changed are :

  1. Now Test Matches can be played in Day-Night Format. The Color of balls, Starting time of matches, Brand of Ball, Type of ball can be decided by Both the playing board with discussion before a series.
  2. No more than 4 fielders will be allowed to placed out of 30 yards circle in Non-powerplay overs.
  3. On-field Umpires can take help of Third-Umpire in a balling-crease Non-Ball decision.
  4. Decision of on-field umpires can be ruled out by third umpire in a "Wrong No-Ball Decision" condition. 
  5. 2.5 Meter rule in DRS can now be ignored by umpires if they feel ball is definitely hitting the stumps and so the on-field umpire's decision can be altered.
  6. Short-pitch delivery related rules in T20 and ODI has also be altered.
